Duckie and Skye’s Exploration

“Duckie and Skye’s Exploration” is a children’s story about a precocious young duckling (Duckie) from Cape May who wanders away from her family to pursue a beautiful flower on the opposite side of the pond. Instead, she bumps into a family of swans and meets a young cygnet (Skye). Duckie and Skye become close friends and swim toward the flower. However, the flower is too high for them to see. In addition, they were too young to fly. So they shuffle out of the pond and follow a family of human hikers to the observation deck.

Meanwhile, their parents are frantically searching for them. When the hikers discover their avian followers, they encourage Duckie and Skye to make a thunderous noise to help their parents find them. Their parents hear their children’s cries for help from the observation deck. When they spotted their children, they thanked the human hikers and guided them home. Days later, Duckie and Skye learn to fly and take a short flight to the unique flowers and the observation deck. Finally, I end the story with Duckiea and Skye planning their next getaway to Long Beach Island, Liberty Island, and beyond.

One afternoon, Duckie is restless and fidgety; she wants to travel but doesn’t know where. Then she visits her best friend Skye, and they agree to fly to Long Beach Island. Duckie and Skye follow a pod of northbound dolphins to Long Beach Island. However, the dolphins veer farther into the Atlantic Ocean, leaving Duckie and Slye lost. Suddenly, an egret (Talent Scout) appears and successfully guides them to Long Beach Island. Then Duckie discovers a neighboring island, across Barnegat Bay. When they arrive, Talent Scout introduces Duckie and Skye to Blues-Baritone, a blue heron and a choir director who desperately needs two substitute singers in the Avain Wildlife Chorus. At first, both Duckie and Skye are reluctant to accept Blues-Baritone’s offer. Finally, however, they agree to an audition. The audition was successful, and they rehearsed their parts. That evening, the concert was a success, and Duckie and Skye received a standing ovation. Duckie and Skye are very proud of their accomplishments at the end of the concert. Finally, Duckie and Skye plan to fly northbound to Sandy Hook Lighthouse.

One day, our avian friends, Duckie and Skye, idled quietly on Barnegat Bay. Then suddenly, Blues-Baritone, a blue heron, and the conductor of the Avian Wildlife Chorus invited Duckie and Skye to sing a duet at Sandy Hook Lighthouse to welcome the arrival of the piping plovers from Florida. Duckie and Skye gladly accepted the offer but realized they needed to practice immediately. The following day, our avain friends enjoyed a hearty breakfast that helped fuel their long journey. Finally, everyone took off flawlessly into the South Jersey Sky.

Meanwhile, a community of piping plovers arrived at Sandy Hook Lighthouse. They settled on the beach and enjoyed the gentle waves. Theodore, the youngest of his family, fell in love with the Jersey Shore and wanted to stay forever. However, his dad said this was just a short visit.

Later that afternoon, the Avain Wildlife Chorus assembled on the beach near the piping plovers. Blues-Baritone introduced the Avain Wildlife Chorus to the piping plovers. Then, the chorus performed flawlessly and received a standing ovation.

After the performance, Theodore auditioned for the chorus and was accepted. He said goodbye to his family and prepared for the next concert at Liberty Island.
