My latest children’s book, “Duckie and Skye’s Odyssey to Liberty,” is almost completed. I wrote the story last year, and I have two color ink illustrations left. “Duckie and Skye’s Odyssey to Liberty,” a children’s book written and illustrated by Donna Mitchelson, is about Duckie (a mallard duck), Skye (a mute swan), and Theodore (a piping plover) who fly from northern New Jersey to Liberty Island and sing in a concert. However, they are off to a late start and encounter fog. But Skye puts on her thinking cap and encourages Duckie and Theodore to follow the Staten Island ferry.

So will this musical trio make their engagement on time? Or will they drift farther out to sea? Stay tuned.
