A day on the trail – Pen and Ink by Donna Mitchelson

I began doing pen-and-ink drawings in 1970. I used black India ink and a crow quill pen on watercolor paper. Back then, I enjoyed creating black-and-white drawings. The absence of color was both challenging and intriguing. A few months later, I learned oil painting and watercolors. While I enjoyed oils and watercolors, my preference was pen and ink. The above drawing is a pen-and-ink drawing of the Kancamagus Highway in New Hampshire.
